Ways a Vaper Can Avoid Swallowing E-Liquid
Having made the shift from conventional cigarettes to electronic cigarettes, you probably have ended up with the e-liquid in your mouth. This is easy to detect as the liquid is bitter and often leads to a stinging sensation in your mouth. When consumed in large quantities, e-juice may be lethal to the user. Accidental swallowing the liquid is mostly caused by leakages from the chamber or cartridge. In such a case, it’ll seep through the mouthpiece of the device and end up in your mouth. While leakage is to blame most of the time, it may not be the problem.
Throughout this article, you will learn how e-liquid can end up in your mouth and what you can do to prevent this.
Avoid Overfilling the Device’s Tank
As a novice vaper, it’s common to overfill the tank with e-liquid. In this case, the liquid may leak and get into your mouth while vaping. If you have overfilled your e-cigarette’s tank, you should absorb the excess liquid using a napkin or paper towel. After absorbing the excess juice, you should clean the tank thoroughly before placing it back in the mouthpiece. If the leakage was too much, you may need to clean the mouthpiece as well before using the device. In this regard, you should detach the mouthpiece from the unit, clean it using water and then dry it. You can then re-assemble your device and enjoying vaping.
Avoid Spilling The E-Liquid When Refilling
When refilling, you need to be very careful to avoid spilling the e-liquid on the mouthpiece. If you have spilt the juice over the cartridge, you should wipe it clean using a napkin. After re-assembling the device, you should also blow into the mouthpiece and against the cartridge. If there was a spillage, you should see a mist of the liquid escaping from the other side of the mouthpiece.
Avoid Flooding the Coil
Pulling too had is known to cause this problem as well. Normally, you should pull the e-cigarette and then press a button to trigger the battery to heat a coil. This coil is wrapped around a wick that sucks up the e-liquid. However, dragging the device too hard prevents the coil from vaporizing the liquid fast enough. When this happens, the excess juice will be sucked through the mouthpiece and end up in your mouth. This is commonly referred to as ‘flooding the coil’.
Avoid Pushing the Cartridge into the Mouthpiece
Using your e-cig in a vertical position, you may end up swallowing the e-liquid while vaping. To avoid this, you should keep the e-cigarette in a horizontal position, preferably in between two fingers.
While consuming too much e-liquid can be lethal, small quantities will cause more discomfort than harm. To enhance your vaping experience, you should avoid getting the liquid into your mouth. Hopefully, the above-mentioned tips can help you in this regard.
