Stop Taking Long Vape Drags!
Are you taking too long of a drag on your electronic cigarette or MOD? Numerous studies have shown that the average drag on your device should be between 2-3 seconds. Most vapers assume that you can take just as long of a drag from a unit as you can from a normal cigarette. Not only can you potentially damage parts of your device, but it can also cause some unwanted side effects.
Sure it might look cool getting those big clouds, but once you discover what it does to your unit, you might rethink taking such a long drag. I have seen some users take up to 10 second drags! Now let's talk about the negative side effects from such long drags.
Do you find yourself having to replace your coils more often? There are 2 reasons for this:
- The first reason is that when you take a long drag you are putting too much stress on the atomizer.
- The second reason is that you’re more than likely running your e-juice down too fast. When you take long drags, you’ll go through juice at a faster rate. If it starts running too low, that is when you can start having problems. Your atomizer needs to always be filled at least halfway or you can risk damaging it or getting that terrible burnt taste.
Let’s recap! Take about a 2-3 second drag from your e-cig or MOD, as this seems to be the sweet spot. Always make sure you have at least a half tank of juice, so you don't risk burning the atomizer. Another helpful tip to get more life out of your atomizer is to let your new juice sit without using it for at least 3-5 minutes. This allows your atomizer to soak up the juice and allows it to function properly! You will be amazed at how much money you save on coils and juice when you start taking shortened drags. You might also notice your e-liquid tasting a lot better! When you take too long of a drag, that can sometimes lead to experiencing a burnt taste.
While taking long drags makes big clouds and looks impressive, just remember the facts and tips I shared with you. The next time you're hanging around your buddies and they make jokes about how you're taking such little drags, just remember this article and smile back at them!

As informative as this blog post is i just have to say that sometimes 2-3 seconds just isnt enough. Alot of factors come into play when a person is vaping. What size tank are you using? What Ohm is your coil? What type of coil is it (ceramic, kanthal, etc) What PG/VG ratio is your juice that you are vaping? What setting is your mod on (VW, VV, Bypass, Temp)? These are all questions that inevitably decide how long a person can vape for (or how little) before their tank starts having issues. While typically 2-3 seconds is more than enough for many vapers depending on the answers to the questions i have listed you may need to vape a little bit longer (specially if you are using a ceramic coil). Also keeping your tank clean can have a large effect on how well your tank works and how well the flavors from your juice come out when you vape. Just my two cents.
