Getting a Vape Headache – What Should You Do?

Getting a Vape Headache – What Should You Do?

Headaches and vaping…for most vapers these two things go hand in hand. Tobacco cigarette smoke has been considered a trigger for headaches for some time now. Although vaping is a better alternative to smoking, the link between the two is nicotine. E-liquids contain a lot less nicotine than tobacco smoke, but the chemical is still present which leaves opportunity for a headache to develop.

Headaches are the number one concern for vapers. It has been the most common and most reported side effect associated with vaping. The most obvious association is too much nicotine. Beginner vapers should start out with the lowest nicotine percentage possible and work their way up. In most cases, vapers that are experiencing this side effect notice a difference after adjusting the nicotine level.

Another cause for headaches could be propylene glycol, a synthetic organic compound found in most e-liquids. Propylene Glycol (PG) has a dehydrating effect that can also lead to headaches. Increasing water intake should resolve this issue. There is also a possibility of sensitivity to propylene glycol, which could also be the root cause of headaches while vaping. In this case, choosing an e-juice with a 40% Vegetable Glycerin (VG) or higher content may be the answer.

It’s already known that nicotine is “more poisonous than cyanide” and should always be consumed with caution. Nicotine poisoning can be another cause of vaping headaches. Though very rare for a user to reach the level of nicotine poisoning, it is always good to be aware of the possibility. To narrow the chances of a headache while vaping or possibly diminish them all together, opt for VG instead of PG. Some vapers may have an allergic reaction to the VG, but it is a better alternative.

After all the chemical adjustments, there’s one other factor that may contribute to vaping headaches; the amount of pulls or the length of the vaping session. Vapers are almost certain to experience this at least once in a session. The longer it lasts, the longer the vaper’s brain is exposed to nicotine. The first sign of being exposed to too much nicotine is nausea, then comes the headache. Usually, stopping the session will resolve this issue.

Even though there are other possible side effects caused by vaping, headaches are the most common. If a vaper is predisposed to migraines, nicotine should be consumed in very small amounts, as it, in most cases, will cause a migraine. When purchasing an e-juice, be sure to choose one high in quality, such as from The Dollar E-Juice Club and follow all the direction given to avoid any and all unnecessary incidents or side effects.
