Counting Vape Juice Calories
It’s perfectly understandable that those who vape might be concerned about how this activity affects their weight. With so many people striving to lose weight in order to be healthier, it’s only natural that heavy-duty vapers would want to make sure that their new hobby isn’t going to sabotage their efforts to reduce how many calories they take in each day.
Now, we all know that e-juices come in an enormous array of tasty flavors. When we vape, we can indulge in luxuriously creamy custards, sticky, sugary candies, decadent cakes and so much more. So, it makes sense that some people wonder if these juices are actually high in calories.
Does Vape Juice Have Calories?
The truth is that e-liquids do, indeed, have calories. However, the number is incredibly small. Typically, 1mL of e-liquid has between four and five calories. These calories come from the flavoring ingredients as well as the ingredients that make up its base.
Therefore, if you go through a 30mL bottle of e-liquid per week, you’re consuming about 120 to 150 calories weekly from vaping.
Do the Calories in Vape Juice Affect Me Like the Calories in Food?
Although e-liquid does have calories, no one really knows as of now whether or not these calories affect your body in the ways that calories from food do. Because vapor goes into the lungs and quickly back out of the mouth, researchers don’t know how many of those calories actually have time to absorb into the body through the lungs. Even if all of the calories absorb into the lungs, we still don’t know if they have any effect on our weight as they don’t go through the digestive tract.
Will Vaping Make Me Gain Weight?
If you’re concerned about gaining weight from the calories in vape juice, you can rest assured that there simply aren’t enough calories to actually have any effect on your waistline. Those four or five calories that you might take in during a day of vaping are nothing compared to the meals that you eat that consist of hundreds of calories.
Additionally, it has been found that vaping doesn’t have any effect on blood sugar levels, meaning that it won’t increase a person’s chance of developing diabetes.
How Vaping Can Actually Help You Lose Weight
There’s good reason to believe that vaping can, in fact, help you lose weight. For one thing, it’s been found that people can satisfy their sugar cravings by vaping. This means that vaping can prevent you from indulging in sweets that can make you gain weight.
Also, your chances of losing weight as a vaper are much higher if you’re using e-liquids that contain nicotine. As a stimulant, nicotine gently speeds up your metabolism while suppressing your appetite. However, if you are weaning down or cannot handle high amounts of nicotine in your e-liquid, stick to what you are currently vaping.
Something You Can Really Count On
As you can see, you don’t have to worry about how the calories in e-liquid are going to impact your attempt to lose weight. Besides the fact that there aren’t enough calories in e-liquids to actually do anything, there’s evidence that shows that vaping will actually help you lose weight in the long run.
